Después del grandioso éxito de Yo soy Betty la fea, RCN Televisión nos trae nuevamente el éxito de Ecomoda, esta vez en formato de serie. Esta serie es escrita por Fernando Gaitán Salom (Libretista de Café con aroma de mujer y Yo soy Betty la fea). Dirigida por el conocido director de cine Mario Ribero (director de Yo soy Betty la fea) y cuenta con la actuación del talentoso elenco de esta maravillosa telenovela.
Transcurrido un año, los amigos y compañeros de Betty y Armando reaparecen para definir sus vidas. A partir de ahora, Ecomoda será el lugar donde estos personajes tendrán que enfrentarse con el quehacer de cada día; los romances, las tragedias, los reencuentros y el poder, se afianzarán en esta empresa. Y es que, a raíz de la recesión económica por la que pasa no solo Colombia, sino la mayoría de los países de América Latina, Ecomoda entiende que debe internacionalizarse, invertir en capital extranjero, lograr nuevas divisas con socios estratégicos, aunque esto implique cambios radicales. Pero estos nuevos vientos, generarán obligatoriamente una nueva forma de vida.
Con la aparición de Mario Calderón -hombre odiado por algunos y olvidado por su mejor amigo Armando- Betty siente que su vida y su intimidad están en peligro y tiene suficientes razones para sentirse así, pues Mario traerá consigo a tres personajes que poco a poco irán ganándose el cariño o el odio de los empleados de Ecomoda. Se trata de Gabriela Garza, una mexicana influyente en el mundo de la moda. Desde su llegada, revive en Betty a todas las mujeres que en años anteriores estuvieron involucradas sentimentalmente con Armando, Betty teme que aquel hombre que le juró lealtad, fidelidad y amor eterno, se olvide que tiene un hogar establecido y una vida plena y vuelva a sus andanzas de mujeriego. Betty no se equivoca del todo, Gabriela sí irrumpirá en su vida y en la de los demás, pero sus intereses principales no se centrarán en Armando como hombre atractivo e interesante que es, o por lo menos, no por el momento. Más bien su punto de atención estará fijado en Ecomoda, una empresa que le dará muchas satisfacciones y logros económicos, pero para ello, tendrá que amoldarse al estilo de trabajo de los empleados y socios, quienes siempre tendrán el temor de que esta mujer llegará a apropiarse de la empresa, realizando cambios radicales y muy probablemente una reestructuración de la planta de personal.
