Leonardo Pérez, un alcoholizado y fracasado escritor colombiano radicado en México, recibe la llamada de una misteriosa mujer anunciándole que su hermano, Daniel Uribe, un joven y prometedor cirujano, se suicidó y él debe regresar al país para enterrarlo.
Tras el funeral, Leonardo descubre dos cosas que lo obligarán a quedarse: la primera, que la misteriosa mujer no es otra que la novia de Daniel: Andrea Laverde, una bella y talentosa artista plástica; la segunda, que Daniel no se suicidó sino que lo mataron. Leonardo y Andrea se darán a la tarea de encontrar al asesino.
En el camino, no solo descubrirán los vínculos de Daniel con una red de tráfico de órganos humanos, sino que el amor nacerá entre ellos, un amor que cambiará sus vidas para siempre.
Leonardo Pérez, an alcoholic and failed Colombian writer living in Mexico, receives a call from a mysterious woman announcing that his brother, Daniel Uribe, a promising young surgeon, has committed suicide and he must return to the country to bury him.
After the funeral, Leonardo discovers two things that will force him to stay: first, that the mysterious woman is none other than Daniel's girlfriend: Andrea Laverde, a beautiful and talented plastic artist; the second, that Daniel did not commit suicide but was killed. Leonardo and Andrea will undertake the task of finding the murderer.
Along the way, they will not only discover Daniel's links to a human organ trafficking network, but love will be born between them, a love that will change their lives forever.
