Mariana Solano, una bella y hábil abogada, trabaja desde hace un par de años en una empresa de servicios de seguridad: A & L Asociados. Allí llega sorpresivamente a trabajar Santiago Negret, su antiguo prometido, a quien hace tres años que no ve. Ahora, al reencontrarse tres años después en la empresa, el golpe para los dos es contundente. Aunque Mariana siente pulsiones que desde la separación había olvidado, su primera reacción es de rechazo total. Santiago, quien ha regresado al país con la única intención de explicarle lo sucedido y tratar de recuperar su amor, quiere hablarle, pero Mariana no solo no lo escucha, sino que le prohíbe acercársele.
Mariana debe decidir si renuncia o si lo sigue aguantando en el trabajo. Por amor a Mariana y para salvar la vida del padre de ella y sin que ella lo sepa, Santiago caerá en una trampa de su malvado primo Lorenzo, quien lo obligará a participar en una serie de operaciones encubiertas, que él llama “golpes”, de dudosa legalidad, que consisten en tender celadas contra personajes en apariencia honestos, pero que se lucran de las necesidades de la gente del común.
Mariana, una mujer intuitiva y perspicaz, se debatirá entre su lado racional, que le dice que Santiago es un ser falso, diferente al hombre del que ella un día se enamoró, y su corazón, que le dice que Santiago es el hombre de su vida. Santiago a su vez, y ante la frialdad de Mariana, deberá ser testigo de la manera como cuidadosa y calculadamente su primo Lorenzo se va ganando poco a poco el corazón de ella.
Los golpes, que Santiago ejecuta con mucho ingenio y con la ayuda de diversos parientes de Mariana, son fuente de toda clase de aventuras y peligros en medio de los cuales se desarrolla la historia de amor.
Mariana Solano, a beautiful and skilled lawyer, has been working for a couple of years at a security services company: A & L Asociados. There she unexpectedly arrives to work Santiago Negret, her former fiancé, whom she has not seen for three years. Now, when they meet again three years later in the company, the blow for both is forceful. Although Mariana feels impulses that she had forgotten since the separation, her first reaction is total rejection. Out of love for Mariana and to save the life of her father -and without her knowing-, Santiago will fall into a trap set by his evil cousin Lorenzo, who will force him to participate in a series of covert operations, which he calls "coups", of dubious legality, which consist of setting traps against apparently honest characters who profit from the needs of ordinary people.
Mariana, an intuitive and insightful woman, will struggle between her rational side, which tells her that Santiago is a false being, different from the man she fell in love with one day, and her heart, which tells her that Santiago is the man of her life. Santiago at the same time, and in the face of Mariana's coldness, must witness how carefully and calculatedly her cousin Lorenzo's is slowly winning her heart.
The blows, which Santiago executes with great ingenuity and with the help of several of Mariana's relatives, are the source of all kinds of adventures and dangers in the midst of which the love story unfolds.
