La historia comienza con un regreso de Lala al barrio popular donde creció y en el que su mamá tiene el salón de belleza que ahora la hija quiere transformar en un gran SPA. Pero la peluquería no es lo único que cambiará radicalmente. La vida de Lala da un giro total cuando hasta allí llega Francisco, un apuesto ejecutivo de la alta sociedad, frívolo y mujeriego como ninguno. Francisco es el prófugo de la justicia, acusado de un delito que no cometió: una millonaria estará orquestada por su suegro, quien lo utilizó para robar a prósperas compañías y grandes millonarios que confiaron sus capitales a la financiera de su propiedad y de la cual Francisco es gerente.
El galán prófugo llega a la peluquería buscando un cambio físico que le facilite huir de las autoridades y cuando se encuentra con Lala nace una atracción mutua que termina convirtiéndose en verdadero amor, no sin antes enfrentar el largo y accidentado camino que atraviesan las relaciones cuando los implicados vienen de mundos opuestos. Dificultades que son aún mayores si de por medio está la condición de Lala, que fue primero Lalo, y una novia celosa, ambiciosa e intrigante que hará todo por recuperar a su amado. Mientras se hace justicia y la inocencia de Francisco sale a flote, el apetecido "don Juan" termina viviendo en la trastienda de la peluquería protegido por Lala y sus pintorescos amigos del barrio, en medio de divertidas situaciones que además dejan al descubierto el valor de la amistad y la solidaridad, por encima de todo.
