Antonio, joven arquitecto, lleva desesperado a Rosario Tijeras, moribunda, hasta un hospital cercano. La bella Rosario ha recibido cuatro balazos a mano de un sicario. Mientras espera que su adorada Rosario sea salvada de las heridas, Antonio recuerda como Rosario, una bella adolescente, se convirtió en la asesina Rosario Tijeras. Y como él, un joven prestante, la convierte en su obsesión: en la mujer de sus sueños.
Rosario es una bella adolescente que vive las guerras entre las bandas de su barrio. Antonio es un estudiante idealista que es sorprendido cuando Rosario le da un beso provocador, frente a todo el colegio donde ella estudia. Ese beso y ese encuentro marcan a Antonio, quien a partir de ese momento, sueña con Rosario y la busca por todo el barrio, acompañado de su gran amigo, el bello y seductor Emilio. Las vidas de Antonio y Rosario se cruzan en varias oportunidades y el joven se enamora cada vez más de esa bella y salvaje muchacha que lo besó.
Rosario, expulsada del colegio por haber enfrentado a su profesora con unas tijeras, trabaja ahora para un mafioso llamado “el papá”, el mismo que muere en sus manos cuando ella lo ajusticia vengando la muerte de su mejor amiga. No es esta la primera vez que Rosario deja ver su sangre de guerrera. Días antes, se vengó también del hombre que intento abusar de ella, dándole origen al mito de Rosario Tijeras. Rosario reaparece en la vida de Antonio y Emilio unos años más tarde, ya transformada en la deseable mítica asesina Rosario Tijeras.
Esta vez es Emilio quien queda prendado de Rosario desde el momento que la ve bailando, rodeada de mafiosos, en un club nocturno. En este encuentro, Rosario y Emilio caen en una avasalladora pasión mutua, y a Antonio le corresponde el doloroso papel de ser testigo mudo de esos amores. Sin embargo, es Antonio quien emprenderá una enloquecida carrera para salvarle la vida, luego de que ella ha recibido cuatro balazos que pretendían cegarle la vida. En un osado operativo, Rosario Tijeras es rescatada del hospital por Jhonefe, su hermano, al tiempo que Antonio es detenido y encarcelado, acusado de intento de asesinato. Antonio, irremediablemente enamorado y sorprendido por la desaparición repentina de Rosario, a quien cree muerta, se reencuentra con ella de una manera insospechada.
Rosario es la artífice del plan de fuga que lo sacará de la cárcel y lo que le significará la renuncia definitiva a su vida. Antonio se entregará completamente a Rosario y a la búsqueda de su amor. Un amor imposible, ya que Rosario no puede amar, solo matar.
