Porque la vida es cuestión de Física – Química. Francisco el matemático es una serie para la televisión manejada en temporadas que se desarrolla en el marco de un colegio distrital, en donde se muestra la labor de los padres y guías que en muchas ocasiones asumen los maestros, quienes permanentemente luchan por cambiar un mundo en el que los valores morales son cada vez más frágiles. Es un producto que se ha mantenido a través de los años, enfrentando cambios radicales de historia y personajes.
Han pasado por la serie diferentes actores de importante trayectoria como Alejandra Borrero, Luis Mesa (Francisco), Ricardo Vélez, Diana Ángel, Andrés Juan, Carolina Cuervo y Mauricio Figueroa, entre otros. La historia gira alrededor de la vida de los estudiantes de un colegio distrital donde forjan su amistad, conocen el amor, la ambición, comparten sueños y decepciones y crean vínculos que trascienden del colegio a la vida después de graduados.
Deserción escolar, embarazo adolescente, pandillas juveniles, contrastes fuertes entre diferentes clases sociales, matrimonios, graduaciones, entrada a la universidad, al mundo laboral y al ejército, son algunos de los temas que se tratan en la serie. A través de las relaciones maestro-alumno, se muestra al educador como un ser integral en donde tiene que mezclar su vida profesional con la privada tanto de sus alumnos como la propia.
La amistad es un importante ingrediente de la historia que se recrea a través de todos los personajes de la serie, así como en los tres universos que se manejan en la misma: la universidad con Gabriela y su nuevo grupo de amigos; el ejército donde Fercho y Carlos reafirman su amistad y en el colegio donde nuevos alumnos se enfrentan a situaciones difíciles de adaptación, pero siempre en todo, la amistad prevalece. El alcoholismo juvenil, las responsabilidades sexuales a edad temprana, la violencia intrafamiliar, la trata de blancas, la venta de estupefacientes, los problemas entre alumnos y profesores, el amor y el estudio son temática de esta producción que ha tenido mucho éxito, tanto así que se ha convertido en tema de estudio en la mayoría de las escuelas, tanto privadas como estatales.

Through teacher-student relationships, the educator is shown as an integral being where he has to mix his professional life with the private life of both the students and his own.
Friendship is an important ingredient in the story that is recreated through all the characters in the series as well as in the three universes that are handled in it: the university with Gabriela and her new group of friends; the army where Fercho and Carlos reaffirm their friendship and in the school where new students face difficult situations of adaptation, but always in everything, friendship prevails. Juvenile alcoholism, sexual responsibilities at an early age, intrafamily violence, white slavery, the sale of drugs, problems between students and teachers, love and study are the themes of this production that has been very successful, both which has become a subject of study in most schools, both private and state.
