Mabel es una psiquiatra de 25 años. Tiene una relación con el doctor León Andrade; pero su pasado la dejó con las graves secuelas de violación que impiden que avancen. Berta, una de sus pacientes más cercanas, desaparece tras un incendio. En medio de su desesperación, crece un gran amor con el teniente Torres, haciendo que se reconcilie como mujer. La lucha con su madre también es recurrente, pues en cada oportunidad que tiene la acerca a Antonio y le exige casarse con él, el hombre millonario y su agresor.

Mabel is a 25-year-old psychiatrist. She is in a relationship with Dr. Leon Andrade; but her past has left her with the serious after-effects of rape that prevent them from moving forward. Berta, one of her closest patients, disappears after a fire. In the midst of her despair, a great love grows with Lieutenant Torres, causing her to reconcile as a woman. The struggle with her mother is also recurrent, for at every opportunity she brings her closer to Antonio and demands her to marry him, the millionaire man and her aggressor.
